The Emmy Award-winning reality program, featuring Blue Ribbon, will air Sunday, November 11th at 8 p.m. on ABC-TV. During the renovation, the team from Extreme Makeover and Blue Ribbon endured a grueling 'around-the-clock' project which transformed the existing site into a customized dream home. As part of that effort, which was led by renowned regional builder J.S. Hovnanian & Sons, Blue Ribbon installed the new home's roof and siding. With unforeseen hurdles, the Blue Ribbon team rotated workers in-and-out for 26 hours straight in order to finish their part, and in the end, helped a well-deserving family.
"We originally had a schedule of three hours for the roof and eight hours for the siding — which is a challenge in perfect conditions. With the pace of the build and the amount of craftsmen involved, most schedules just had to be modified on the fly. We got there at 8 am to start and we left at 10 am the next day. It was exhausting but a very rewarding experience — and we're excited to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show this weekend," says Blue Ribbon President Scott Lenahan.
Sunday's episode features Victor Marrero of Camden and his five sons, who were chosen for "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" after ABC's "20/20" primetime newsmagazine followed the family's eldest son Billy Joe, for a special on children growing up in poverty. On Friday, November 9 at 10 pm, ABC will air an update on that "20/20" special, reconnecting with the Marrero family.
